 Have you ever heard someone use the phrase, "Are you tracking with me?"
Over the years, from time to time, I've heard public speakers use this phrase. It was a way for the speaker to take a pulse and see if their listeners were engaged in what they were saying.
But, then one day I got to thinking, "How many people are tracking?"
I wondered how many people actual track what they are doing in their businesses. How many home business owners take a pulse to see what is going on in their business?
I started asking my clients. Most of them responded, "What do you mean?"
So, if you're thinking, "What the heck is she talking about - tracking my business?" You're not alone. Many people do not track what they are doing in their business because they simply do not know how. They've never been taught.
Tracking what you're doing in your business means counting, on a daily basis, the following activities:

 What is the best piece of advice you ever received? Well I don't know if I received this specific piece of advice or picked it up by osmosis but one thing that always sticks with me is "Don't run before you can walk".
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of stretching myself but when I first entered the world of internet marketing it was simply overwhelming. Perhaps you felt, or feel, the same way to.
I labored under the illusion that I had to have a website. I bought FrontPage, learned some basic coding skills, manipulated graphics, added auto-responder boxes - I could go on but I laugh now as I look back at the confusion and stress I created in my own mind. In short I was running before I could walk.
When I discovered that I didn't need a website in order to make money it was somewhat of a revelation. In fact, with just a PC and internet access it is possible to have an internet business up and running |
